After San Diego, Jennifer won her second tournament of the year in a row, after a 16-match win streak. She won easly the final against Katerina Maleeva, but she defeated world number 3 Sabatini en route (she retired after lost the first set).

Final's report
In the first set, Jennifer went up 4-0 with two breaks. She took another break in fifth game but lost the serve when she was near to close the set and Maleeva went on 2-5. Jen served again for the set and won it for 6-2.
She took a break also on the first game of second set, but gave it back in the next one (1-1). In third game there was another break for Jennifer (3-1) and another one in fifth game. On 5-1 she had two match points on Maleeva's serve, but she failed both with two return errors. She went to serve for the match on 5-2, but she badly lost the serve in her worst game of the match. Maleeva served on 3-5, but she lost again the serve (she was broken 7 times in the whole match) and Jennifer captured the title at her third match point.
