This was her first tournament after the Olympics gold medal. She was the defending champion and she was able to win the tournament for the second time
in a row, losing only one set in the semifinal. This was her fifth title.

Final's report
In the first set, Jennifer took a break, but Martinez broke her back (1-1). On 2-2, Jennifer broke her opponent's serve again and went on 4-2. On 5-3 the
Spanish served to remain in the set, but lost again the serve and Jennifer won the set for 6-3.
On second set, Jennifer broke Martinez (who was leading 40-0) and went on 2-0. The Spanish broke back (2-1), but lost again the serve in the next game and
Jennifer went up 4-1. On 5-2 Martinez (who was suffering for a right shoulder injury) served to stay in the match, but Jennifer broke her again and won the
title with a wonderful forehand.
