Capriati D Likhovtseva 6-3, 6-3

Q. Is it a bit more difficult to play when the weather is like in England?
JENNIFER CAPRIATI: Yeah, a little bit , it is dreary for everybody. But as the match went on I got warmed up and it was good. Elena played well but playing under different conditions is always harder.

Q. You always played at high-noon, what do you do afterwards?
JENNIFER CAPRIATI: I get a massage or I go shopping but I actually don't want to do too much.

Q. You seemed to be very concentrated but not so relaxed on the court, why?
JENNIFER CAPRIATI: Too concentrated? I need to be concentrated if I want to win. I am aggressive.

Q. She came back in the second set just as like in the last games. Does this have something to do with your concentration or is it a coincidence?
JENNIFER CAPRIATI: Maybe it is but I don't know. I have to give credit to my opponents they have to go for it. They have nothing to lose and they try to make something happen.

Q. You have had lots of free time(when she was recovering from an eye operation) what did you develop most in your movements?
JENNIFER CAPRIATI: It was an all around improvement but I don't want to step into any details. My movement is better on both wings and also my fore-and backhand.

Q. How does that affect your game?
JENNIFER CAPRIATI: Oh, it helps to be more confident.

Q. Does it help you to relax during the game?
JENNIFER CAPRIATI: Yeah, I am not so tired and I can recover faster between long points.

Q. Earlier in the week you said that the tournament is a preparation for the next Grand-Slam? Does the weather disturb you somehow?
JENNIFER CAPRIATI: It is a good sign to play well under those conditions. It is important to have the patience and to be able to deal with all conditions. You can't be frustrated.

Q. Last year you had a fantastic first half and the second one wasn“t that good. This year you almost missed the first half. Is that an advantage?
JENNIFER CAPRIATI:Well, it is hard to keep the standard and very difficult because the schedule is packed and I still don't have much time. It takes lots of concentration and especially disipline. It is not a terrible year but I am looking at it positive.

Q. This the 8th time you play in Berlin, do you feel strong enough for a win?
JENNIFER CAPRIATI: Yeah, I am playing well. I feel confident.

Q. Do you have any thoughts about your opponents?
JENNIFER CAPRIATI: Both players are tough. Kim has a very great game. I always have these dogfights when I play against her. I think it is going to be interesting.
